Small Hallways (Beka/Lauren)

Beka, a load of schoolbooks in hand, made her way down the halls of her dorm. She had thought it was a good idea to get all of her books together in one shot, but was quickly regretting it. The books were quite heavy, and the hallways were completely too small. She had to dodge people wherever she went. Finally, she was close to her room. Going for her key in her pocket, she looked away for a second, and bumped into someone coming from the opposite direction, causing her to drop some of her books. "Aw, crap." She said, bending down to them. "Sorry." She said, to the other person.

Lauren who's hand were full of shopping bags, was walking down the hall after a long day of shopping. As she was on her way to her room someone bumped into her, causing her to drop her things. Lauren glared at the girl.

"Yeah you better be." she said as she bent down and began to gather her things.

Beka looked back up at the girl, noticing she was pissed. "Um, I just...had too much stuff in my hands...I didn't see you." She said, a nervous chuckle coming out of her.

"Clearly." she said shoving items of clothing into her bags. She stopped for a moment reaching into her bag pulling out a compact mirror. She looked at herself in it checking her hair. She ran a strand through her hair before putting the mirror back into her bag.

"You're lucky none of my shit got damaged or you'd be paying for it."

"God forbid." Beka said, under her breath, collecting her things.

Lauren gathered all of her things before standing up straight again. She fluffed her hair before pulling out some lipgloss.

"What's with all the books anyways?" she asked as she applied her lipgloss.

"They're for my classes for the year." She said. "I was an idiot and thought I pick them up all in one shot."

Lauren laughed. "Why buy books? Nobody actually gives a damn about reading and like revising and stuff."

"Uh..don't you have stuff for your classes?"

She laughed. "Ugh, no! All that shit is for geeks and losers."

"You're not a freshman are you?"

Lauren started laughing even more. "Hell no. Junior obviously."

"Oh, sorry...probably should've known that."

"Yeah you should have." she said. "And even if I was freshman, I still wouldn't buy books. Like, I won't need them. Hell I don't really need to be here. When I leave I have things planned. I only stay here because if I don't my dad will cut me off. Asshole."

"Oh, well...I guess all parents are like that, I mean pushing you to go to college."

"Pointless. I'm too smart for this dump anyways." she said. "I'm here for the boys and the parties." she smirked.

"How are the parties here, if you don't mind me asking."

"Depends. Some times they are great. Sometimes they are a mess. Like when the stoners crash sometimes. Like so not a good time."

"Oh, geez. Are there a lot of people like that around?"

"Well yeah. There are tons of different people. Stoners. Emo's. Popular kids. Geeks. Jocks."

Beka chuckled a bit. "And I thought cliques were supposed to die off in high school."

"Nope. Still alive and kicking." she said.

"Guess I shouldn't be surprised."

"So what one are you apart from?"

"Uh...I'm not really sure what clique I would consider myself in." She shrugged. "I guess like...theater kids maybe? Only because I love to sing. But I wouldn't just only talk to theater kids either."
